It seems that there are some leadership changes at Diamond Canada related to the sale.

Diamond Aircraft announces several leadership appointments

Does anyone know what the current disposition of Diamond Canada vs. Diamond Austria is? Will the Chinese parent eventually buy the whole thing?

If they aren't going to buy the whole thing, and the Chinese already own Continental, doesn't it make more sense for them to return to Technify engines? Are there larger Technify engines in the pipeline if they want to work on their own projects (like a King Air killer)?

Interesting point. Continental does have three diesel engine lines.
  • The 100 series with the CD135 and CD155. The old Thielert engines used by Diamond.
  • The CD-200 with the CD-235 certified earlier in the decade. They have two follow on models, a CD-265 and CD-285. This is a direct drive air cooled engine, boxer four cylinder. The CD-200 series is based on a license from SMA, but from what the Continental rep told me when I was looking at one for experimental, except for the case there is not much shared with SMA. Continental, based on the lessons from the Thielert engines made fundamental changes, everything from injection system to vibration mitigation.
  • CD-300 series, a three liter bigger brother to the CD-100 series. I never did find out what was the base engine platform, but it was supposedly based on another auto-conversion where they follow the same process. By the auto engine, remove the guts and put them in a new light weight case aluminum case. Rumor was this was under development when Thielert went TU.
Personally, I always thought the CD-200 line does not fit with the rest.

About a year ago the Chinese bought the entire company from the Dries family, including the 40% of Diamond Canada that they didn't already own. The sale also included Austro Engine.

So for the past year there's been "one Diamond Aircraft" with Diamond Austria and Diamond Canada working together. And Austro Engine continues to be wholly owned by Diamond.
