Outdated Garmin G1000 software - petition sign-up

I think one of the most interesting tidbits has been that Diamond was offered the newer versions by Garmin and passed. More importantly, there have been multiple reports that a new G1000 software release will be out shortly from Diamond for at least one class of aircraft.

This suggests that your work, Scott, is timely, and that there is a reasonable chance that Diamond will respond positively and from a position of being able to actually do something.

Thanks very much Peter for your encouraging news! As a result of your post, I checked for new service bulletins and noticed there were two issued in the last 30 days, one regarding new software for TDI engines. Close, but no cigar - yet. Please keep us posted with any further G1000 news you might have. . . . .

♦ ♦ ♦ BREAKING GOOD NEWS ♦ ♦ ♦

Today we got a big boost from the FAA, as the list surpassed a major milestone – blasting through the century mark!!! No, not that FAA, but the Flight Aviation Academy of Newnan, Georgia. So a gigantic thank you goes out to Clint Hughey for adding their large fleet of 11 aircraft (4 DA40's & 7 DA42's). Plus Clint graciously shared the sign-up link with two other flight schools with DA42's, as well as another TwinStar he has on leaseback. With some luck, all of these aircraft will be joining our ranks soon.

Also today, the first very Australian based aircraft entered the fray with David Elder signing up his DA42 (VH-YDZ). Fingers crossed more Diamonds from “down under” will be populating the list.

As of this very moment, the list now stands at an impressive 103 total aircraft! So December is clearly off to a GREAT start with us already exceeding our end of the year goal. While it's tempting to just sit around and feel good for a day or so – let's keep 'em coming. So far after 30 days, the list is averaging a little over 3 aircraft per day. So if this pace continues, it's not out of the realm of possibility to be knocking on the door of 200 aircraft by New Year's Day. To help us double our numbers, please spread the word! Welcome today to Rob for adding his TwinStar (N42DX) to the list. There are now 35 D42's that have signed up and nearly twice as many DA40's - with 68. Also, after an email exchange with Clint Hurley, and at my encouragement, he added his Academy's only non-G1000 equipped DA-40.

For documentation purposes, of those 68 DiamondStars, only 3 are steam gauge versions (to the best of my knowledge). Then factoring a DA62 and one “other” aircraft, the total now stands at 105. To add your aircraft, please click HERE Thank you!
