I am also a part owner of another DA40, in this case a WAAS-enabled 2008 DA40XLS, reg N943PA with software version 0321.23. Please add that one as well!

My DA40 TDI airframe serial number is D4.222, which was manufactured in 2006, with its last software update in 2007. Its G1000 doesn't display a software version number, but my maintenance organisation informs me it's 010-00370-17. Does anybody know where that fits into Garmin's software release history?

According to Garmin's website, the manual for your software is:

The bottom line: your plane is way back on GDU Version 5, some of the oldest G1000 software still in use.

Really appreciate the suggestion Pekka! Years ago, a good friend told me how she used google docs all the time in her collaborative work. However, I've just never had a reason to do so before taking on this project. Will have to study up on the subject just as soon as time allows.

Finally, I'm calling every friend of mine who owns a Diamond or runs a flight school that has them in their fleet. Have received a great response as two more have joined this effort today. Scott Ramsey, N905PA and Cindy Smith, N299JP – with another 8 aircraft expected shortly. Thanks to both Scott and Cindy!

Thanks Dave. That makes sense, as I had the choice of steam gauges or the G1000, when I ordered the plane, so the transition to new technology at Diamond had just begun. I wonder if it has hardware limits to any software upgrades?

Keith, there is no hardware limitation as we updated our old 10-00370-17 (GDU 5.02) to 10-00628-00 with GDU 12.03. That included WAAS upgrade and was covered by EASA STC from the company URBE. This was not supported by Diamond. Your software is the latest issued for the TDI by Diamond.

Nice sheet. The little devil in my soul just sees the inevitable:

a) someone accidentally empties the whole sheet - oops?
b) someone adds or deletes stuff with ill intent

You can make the sheet just viewable by the internet. People still register here for data.
Or you make a google form, where people insert their airplanes and you manually then transfer these to the public list. So it looks like a form webpage, where you insert the needed data and it goes to a spesific google sheet. This is a bit trickier to make, not much thou.

So at least make backups of the original list if a or b happens
