I see that it's a Cicada year in the East. The big juicy 17-year variety. Wipe down often

Apparently, it shouldn't be much of a problem:

We had cicadas out here last year, but they were really small compared to the ones I recall when I was growing up in NJ. Not nearly the same thing.

Re: Bug goop be a'commin' it seems
We get a lot of 'em in S. Central TX, but, as the article mentions, you almost never see them flying, and when you do it's a very short, low level hop. The only bugs I have had to deal with on a semi-regular basis are the so-called "love bugs" on my trips to FL. Those suckers can be thick at certain times of the year (April-May and August-September). Plus each hit delivers twice the bug goo, since they "Fly United" so to speak. Plus, love bug goo is both particularly damaging to paint and difficult to remove.

Try Bug Blaster. from Aircraft Spruce. Spray it on wait a few seconds and wipe it off.
