Well, that works

Somehow my 406 MHz ELT decided to go off after pulling the plane out of the hangar this morning. So I got to speak with an Air Force officer in Florida to tell him all was OK. Good to know the system works :D

Hey, mine went off after landing at OshKosh and they had to try and find the plane between... well a lot of other planes. That was also quite a bit of fun...

Absolutely no idea how it activated to this day.

The system definitely works. It's the same system used by yachts and ships. Since the switch to 406MHz crews of sinking or sunk boats have been picked up mid-Pacific in less than 12hrs.
