I’ve PM’d you. Interested in which parameters you defined to implement them directly with FlySto.tjmoody wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 7:23 pm I've been using FlySto quite a bit as well. I really like the ability to analyze approach and landing performance. I've created a separate spreadsheet to capture several key parameters generated by FlySto to look for good (or bad) trends in my approaches and landings.

Re: G1000 flight log analysis
PM’d you for more info to get the UI right, thanks!dant wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 5:26 am so, some UI feedback. I'm picky about ui. I looked at the example log and for the 2d map:
-- can't drag around at all? is there some hotkey? I tried holding space.
-- both mouse buttons zoom (including middle)
-- scroll wheel doesn't zoom, it moves the map up and down (?)
-- if you accidentally zoom way in trying to scroll around, arbitrarily clicking the "Entire Flight" button doesn't reframe. In fact the only way I could find to reframe was to select departure/arrival and select entire flight again.
the 3d map is super awkward to navigate with a mouse also. It's super easy to get "lost". 3d controls are pretty notorious to get right though. However the "sticky" point on the ground is brutal - you get super different scroll speeds vertical/horizontal, and it also ends up zooming (?). And of course the mouse wheel must zoom in 3d. I've been working in 3d my entire career and I legit can't maneuver this camera back to the flight path, even with the help icon guide (left click isn't panning, it's also zooming).
the cockpit view is pretty badass.
is there a climb rate per nm graph? The altitude graph vs the book climb rates is pretty neat.
actually that takeoff performance graph is super cool. It'd be sweet to have that go straight in to a departure procedure.
I'm sure you're already thinking about aligning routes and procedures on the maps.
Neat stuff!!

This is a great tool for performance analysis of the both pilot and the plane!
Thank you Patrick!

Re: G1000 flight log analysis
Since GDU v15.11 opened the opportunity for data logging, I immediately logged my first two flights and uploaded data to https://www.flysto.net. Great presentation and definitely very useful tool!

Re: G1000 flight log analysis
I've used flysto for my last few flights and am really impressed. Great tool that definitely will help me standardize the way I fly. I encourage those who haven't looked into it to try it out.

Re: G1000 flight log analysis
I looked high and low for the thread that had recommendations for a wifi SD card that would allow direct G1000 to iPad communication to download the flight logs for analysis by Flysto.
Any recommendations?

Perhaps you are considering AirSync. It's not cheap @ $800+ to install at at least $200/year subscription (per their website, not including any seasonal promotions).
I use a regular SDcard in the MFD and the SDcard to iPhone (or iPad) adapter ($29/lightning; $39/USB-C) with my cellular connection (or FBO WiFi, when available) to upload flight data to FlySto via the FlySto web interface.
