RealSimGear G1000
I splurged a few months ago and bought the RealSimGear G1000 screens and bezels. The system works extremely well and is a near perfect rendition of the real G1000. It is well built and the knobs and buttons have a very solid feel. Since I don't get any real actual here in Colorado I thought it would be helpful to stay proficient. I've flown numerous approaches using X-Plane11 and the STMA DA40. It is a very good simulation. Not perfect, but very good. Unless you are interested in the amazing graphics on MSFS2020, don't waste your time with that sim for IFR practice. The G1000 sim in MSFS is horrible... not even close. But couple the RSG G1000, X-plane11 and either Vatsim or PilotEdge and you have an amazing almost real world simulation. Since I don't know how to post a picture here of my setup, if you are interested just let me know and I'll text or email it to you (unless someone wants to tell me how to post a picture.

Re: RealSimGear G1000
I concur with all you say here; I have the RSG G1000 Suite, as well. Since we’re based on the same field, we should get together and compare notes.Barry wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 12:49 am I splurged a few months ago and bought the RealSimGear G1000 screens and bezels. Re: RealSimGear G1000
Nice setup! I fly a DA 40 rental at KBJC and I'm planning to buy a computer to run x-plane 11 this week, along with a stick, rudder pedals and headset (although not the RSG G1000, at least not yet). Could you tell me where you bought your hardware and what it cost? Thanks!

Re: RealSimGear G1000
SteveM - take a look at Aviatek. It’s simply the only ‘realistic’ replica. RSG is a general rather than precision reproduction.
I think the guy building the DA42 sim on the forum is also using Aviatek.

Re: RealSimGear G1000
Steve... The RSG1000 is half the price of the Aviatek. Never looked at the Aviatek because of this. I spent 2K on the computer and 2k for the G1000. It works fantastic. THE RSG G1000 is near perfect and well built. I got the mounting frame as well. Here's the computer build from NZXT.com. Hope this helps:SteveM wrote: ↑Sun May 30, 2021 7:19 pm Nice setup!
