There are videos of DA40's in an intentional stall/spin. You can see them kick the rudder over during the stall and roll. The test pilot makes the recovery look simple. But since they aren't certified for it I don't think anybody practices spin recovery in a DA40.

This plane was about 3,000' AGL, not much time to recover.

The DA40 goes through spin testing as part of certification but is not approved for intentional spins. To be approved for intentional spins the spin must be fully developed (that generally means 6 turns or more) and recover promptly. And the test must be done with the airplane in the most egregious situation (aft CG, max gross weight, etc) or there are limitations (such as the C172).

Known unintentional DA40 spin accidents are rare, but they do happen. This is likely the second stall/spin accident in the US, ever. But I see quite a number of what looks like stall/spin fatal accidents overseas. There are indications that outside the US intentional spinning DA40s is not uncommon. Let it get past that first turn and you're really asking for it.
