Kai,
I just got my postcard invitation to the Diamond Aviators.net. Good job so far on the site and what a great idea for marketing.

Thanks, Lance! The idea to send the postcards was Gary's and I hope to repeat this in a few weeks.Lance Murray wrote:Kai,

Re: Postcard
No problem if you have the cash to burn but I doubt that another direct mailing campaign would be very cost effective so soon after the first. I suspect that we have reached most of those who would be interested in joining. I would be surprised if we got more than 10% to 20% of the number of new sign-ups after the first mailing. Perhaps every 6 months if you receive enough donations to cover the cost.Kai wrote: Thanks, Lance! The idea to send the postcards was Gary's and I hope to repeat this in a few weeks.

Re: Postcard
Gary,
maybe you are right. But it would be good to monitor the FAA database like once a week or a month and send a postcard to new Diamond aircraft registrants as they are the ones with most interest and questions regarding their new plane.

Great idea. I did not know that it would be possible to identify new owners very easily.Kai wrote:Gary,

Re: Postcard
Hi
You can do the same here in Australia. AS soon as my DA-40 was registered, I got letters from all sorts of people re insurance, canopy covers, etc.
Apparently the government authority sell aircraft updates...
Regards
Robin

the FAA registration database in the US is free and everyone can download it. You just have to filter for airframe and manufacturer et voilá! - all addresses and names obtained. This is also one of the reasons why many US aircraft owners put an LLC or any kind of company in front to be a bit less public.
Maybe it works the same way in Australia?

Re: Postcard
Same for the CAA. Endless lists of owners.
http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=60&pagetype=65&appid=1&mode=summary&aircrafttype=Diamond
if this doesn't work just google GINFO
