Kai: Mine still doesn't show up. Airport identifier is in proper ICAO format.

I double checked my profile and the aircraft type, registration number and home base airport code are there, but no symbol on the World map in my area. N71LV at K9G0, Buffalo, NY, USA

I don't show up on any area grouping or list for Canada or the NE USA but if you zoom way in (5 miles across or so) I show up at CYTZ.

Nigel, it is showing up correctly. Also, you have entered three airports as your home airport, CYTZ being the first. That's why you are marked as being based in CYTZ. Looks all fine to me.

Thom and Steve: I am not sure why your airport identifiers cannot be found but I couldn´t find it, either.

Next week we will try to add a different google maps layer and see if it will get any easier to find us on the map...

Kai,

Are you using/searching on the ICAO code for the airports or by name? Just wondering if my entry in the field is the format you are looking for.

Note, K9G0 & K1T7 are FAA codes only. These airports may be too small to have an ICAO code...

Actually, the FAA code for Buffalo Airfield is 9G0, the ICAO code requires the K (USA) prefix to the FAA code, thus K9G0 is indeed the ICAO code and using it on every flight planning software I've seen produces the correct result. Searching Google Maps with "9G0" produces Buffalo-Airfield. Searching Google Maps with "K9G0" produces Lindsay Aviation which is the FBO at Buffalo-Airfield. In both cases the little red pointer shows up at Buffalo Airfield on Google Maps.

Please don't interpret this response to be argumentative, just trying to state the facts so we can get to the bottom of the problem. This DAN World is a great idea and I hope all the little kinks get resolved.

Thom,

I am sorry I didn´t reply any earlier. We have been working on trying to improve the ICAO geo-database. Please, see http://www.diamondaviators.net/world.php now and see if it works any better. We have also given the option the add an airport, in case you can´t find yourself in the map.

@all:
Due to popular demand, we have switched to old fashioned red dots and a list of nearby planes and airports on the right hand side of the map. I hope you guys like it.

Thanks, Kai.
My home airport (9G0) still didn't show up, but with the ability to add another airport, I was able to add it, so it now shows up.
