Unable to post reports

Hi, It's been a while since I've logged in and I'm not the most proficient user, but I'm unable to get past the forum page to do anything. When I sign in it takes me to the forum page and when I go anywhere else, I'm not signed in. All sign in attempts take me to the forum page. I use Google Chrome on Windows 10 PC. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Bob

I changed machines, though still with Windows 10, and get the same funky results using MS Edge as a browser. Something is amiss here... Thanks!

Bob, I am having the same behavior. I know Kai just upgraded the underlying phpBB software, and this is apparently a known problem with this release. There is another thread on this issue, and they are working on it, as far as I know...

What I have been doing for the past couple of weeks is the following:
1) log in as usual (doesn't matter if you check the "remember me" box or not).
2) Copy the "&sid=xxxxxxxxx..." part of the URL in the address bar
3) Click on whtatever you want to do (i.e. Active Topics, etc.)
--- you will go to the correct page, but you will now be logged out again!
4) paste the "&sid=xxxx" text to the end of the current URL in the address bar
5) you will now be on the page you wanted, but logged in again.

Yes, this is a REAL PAIN, but I can't find any other way to use the DAN right now. I hope the phpBB guys find a solution to the underlying problem soon...

Sorry for the late reply and thank you, Rich, for helping me out here.

I am travelling and working these days. Unfortunately, my HDD crashed during travels and I am far behind with my main work and cannot work on the forum. We have login issues and the biggest is with the reports page. In the previous version of phpbb we had a script which copied the login information to the reports page so that only registered users could use it. This script does not work on phpBB anymore and therefore, reports is disabled.

On the login issues we have tried a few fixes so far but still it seems that it does not work the way we want it.

Will update you guys as soon as one or another thing is working better again.

I continue to be logged out whenever I select "Active Topics" or "New Topics." Also, I've yet to figure out where to select "Unread messages" after logging in -- that former feature seems to have gone missing.

To post a reply in any thread, I'm required to re-login again.

If it matters, I'm running the latest MacOS and Safari browser releases.

Dave, thanks for calling the attention to the issue again. The login problem is not solved, although we eliminated a few things which seemed to affect the ability to keep the login cookie. I promise that it will work latest after Sunday.

Dave, the Unread Messages button seems to NOT be part of the new phpBB version. However, you can still mimic the old function (which I used ALL the time!) by changing the URL, where it says "search_id=active_topics" to read "search_id=unreadposts". Once they get the login issue solved, if you save the URL from the "Active Topics" button as a link, you can then edit it and have a link that performs the old "Unread Messages" function...

Regarding the login issues: we could reproduce the error with Chrome and "http" and it is fixed now, means login is persistent also when clicking on "active topics" or "new topics". CFIDave, could you please check if the issue is sorted also on your Safari browser?

Thanks, Rick. The button/link to "New Topics" is added now.

Reports tool is working again. Some design features are not implemented yet but at least the functionality is restored.
