Re: New MT propeller
Very fast DA20, about as fast as my DA40 with much lower fuel burn. Nice airplane.

Re: New MT propeller
Cool.....I see 145-147 ktas on my DA20 with the MT prop. And on a couple of occasions I've seen 150 ktas....
I thought there was a noticeable difference in climb until I put the old prop back on when my MT was in the shop. When I reinstalled the MT I saw no difference between the two climb wise....
I really like my MT Prop.

The performance sounds great Ralphie! Is the new MT approved fir the airplane? What paperwork was required to comply with FAA regs?

Re: New MT propeller
Yes its STC'd for the airframe. A 337 form is filed with the FAA. Pretty basic.JeffB wrote:The performance sounds great Ralphie! Is the new MT approved fir the airplane? What paperwork was required to comply with FAA regs?
MT will install and balance the prop for free if you fly to them for the install. They are located at Deland Florida. I had them re-install mine after they re-painted/refinished the prop.....
The cost of the prop was about $2300......

Re: New MT propeller
I just bought and installed one today on my 1998 C1. I took a quick test flight, data below.
Outside air Temp 58F
Alt. was 2000 indicated due to ceiling of 3000. pressure set to 30.26 NE area
Throttle full, leaned for peak RPM @ 2700
Surface wind reported at airport 360 @ 8. I didn't get aloft winds due to low ceiling. I will perform more tests at different alts.
GPS GS
North = 132
East = 131
South = 144
West = 145
Avg GPS GS = 143.25 Kts with Indicated airspeed @140 +/-.
I'm liking the MT prop so far. See how it holds up in all seasons here in the NE USA

Re: New MT propeller
is the MT Prop STC for the A1 or C1? can I use it for my A1? I'm out of Los Angeles and was under the impression there was no STC in the US for the A1 MT prop, but they have an STC every other country in the world and probably Middle Earth as well, but not with the FAA
