Wow, Mark! Obviously, these prices are inflated. But thanks for the effort of posting this. Meanwhile I am trying to find cheaper sources and will post it here or might initiate a group buy. It should be possible to get these paints at more reasonable prices.

Is this stuff on the inside of the DA40, or just the 20? My 40 has some areas on the inside bottom cowling where the paint is blistering (the outside paint looks fine). It looks like a 1 part paint, not a white with a clearcoat. And if it is the stuff on the 40 also, do you need the clearcoat on the inside of the cowling, or just the contego stuff?

It is also on the DA40. Mine was just redone at KCDW. Noted by the factory, but they didn't have the time to take care of it.

Enrick- I assume you just used the product and did not put clear coat over it? Also, how did you remove the old paint? That seems like the biggest hassle, especially with the metal heat shields riveted on.

actuly, on my katana i do dont have metal heat shield on the lower and top cowling, the old stuff are very easy to remove because they peel of almost by themself, due to time and age.... at the end we spar clear on it.

working time completely, 8 hour, divided in 3 day to let them, cure.

cost me in total 200$

I also have a DA20 that needs the inside of the cowl painted?
Also is the paint on the outside normal 2K paint used on the rest of the aircraft?

Any updates on this topic .

Regards Andrew.
