In my refurb process, i noted sometime the flaps light stop working, but flaps are working, slower than normal and i noticed the DG red flag stay on for a 20 to 30 second, normaly, when i put the maste ron they disapera in a second,
i noticed my battery is low a litle, i put them full charge and everything came back as normal....
now everything is working propely, but my voltage ga down very fast when the engine is not running,
do you think my battery can be the problem foe my light on the flaps indicator ?..... or i need to digg a litle bit more on it....
i will probably put a new battery on it

Re: Flaps light
The flap light tricks a lot of people in the DA40. Not sure if the DA20 has the same setup, but the dimmer knob for the panel lights also controls the flap lights. If it's in the wrong position, it makes you think the bulb is burnt out.Enrouk wrote:In my refurb process, i noted sometime the flaps light stop working
Never flown a DA20, but worth a quick look.

Re: Flaps light
What a coincidence that you just posted this! I thought my flap lights had all suddenly gone out on my DA40, but I have also just recently turned the dimmer lights down completely. I'll bet that's what happened. Thank you, Eric!

Re: Flaps light
this really sounds like a battery issue to me. If the battery is more than 4 years old, I suggest putting in a new battery.Enrouk wrote:In my refurb process, i noted sometime the flaps light stop working, but flaps are working, slower than normal and i noticed the DG red flag stay on for a 20 to 30 second, normaly, when i put the maste ron they disapera in a second,

Re: Flaps light
Check the dimmer switch first but I also am thinking battery.
I have a Teledyne Gill G-35M and I called them about a broken battery cap about a year ago. They sent me a new cap free of charge - and asked me for my weight and balance info so they could contact the FAA about getting certification to replace the G-35M for their sealed version, the 7035-28 (the -28 means 28 amp/hours). If interested you might want to contact Teledyne Battery Products in Redlands, CA to see if you have an option to replace your current battery with a better sealed battery (www.gillbatteries.com) or contact Hector Vara, Senior Technical Support, hvara@teledyne.com
