Re: Nose Wheel Strut Issue
I've been shimmy-free for about four months now. Trying to find a cure I also replace those bushings, worked the fork pivot friction, and balanced the tire. The last thing required to cure my shimmy issue was to replace the the tire. The tire, while balanced, was out-of-round with a high and low spot. Due to the slipstream the tire normally touched down slightly canted. Between the rotation of the tire and the frequency of the high spot coming in contact with the runway a harmonic shimmy was induced. At least that is my theory. All I can say for certain is I dealt with all four symptoms to find a cure.
