It's a DA20.... Loud? And you're doing about 70 on the freeway and the landing speed with flaps is.... also about 70mph..

Someone out in California take those reporters for a flight so they can get a clue. I would have done no different in the same situation. A three lane highway with moving traffic and minimal power lines is a good option with little risk to those on the ground. Even a compact car occupant would be well protected behind all their air bags and crumple zones. And still considering the DA-20 well-designed 26G cockpit, the only ones at real risk were the ones in the DA-20. I really hated the reporter's narrow-minded view that only car drivers lives matter. Hey, pilot lives matter too...

Reports do not care about true facts, just ratings and views. In an emergency, land anywhere and pick the safest place. Just watch out for idiots and we see them every day in cars.
