How do you free a stuck GEN/CANOPY press-to-test, caution/warning light?

I haven't had this problem before. But I had it for other switches. Usually I end up replacing them, because once they start misbehaving, creating electrical arcs etc, even if I fix the problem temporarily, it has a tendency to come back.

I feel your pain. Knowing Diamond, that's probably an expensive part to replace.

Pull off the instrument panel cover and detach the switch. See if you can free up any snags - and use a little LP2 or other non-conductive lubricant. If it does not press nicely in/out then it needs replacing. I had a sticky canopy warning switch a few years ago and ended up replacing the switch.

It's a Cutler-Hammer/Eaton switch P/N 206K11810D0202S. Appears to be available from several sources for around $50 US.

I'm sure you can get it from Diamond for 3-4 times as much if you like ;)
