Hi All - long time listener, second time poster apparently.
I've been immensely enjoying my DA20/K100 (ROTAX) for the last nine years. Looking to get my next annual done, and wondering if anyone has any positive recommendations for an A&P/IA in the Seattle (and preferably north) area?
It seems like a lot of shops just aren't interested in anything other than Piper / Cessna / Beechcraft that they can just crank through plane after plane. ROTAX either befuddles them or they're convinced the DA20 Katana is an LSA and "we don't do LSAs." I kid you knot.
I used to do owner-assist annuals, but with running my own business and the logistics of living on an island (complete with a moat around it) make that not as easy. When I have found a competent A&P/IA that does great work reliably, then shop management/priorities change after a time and then there is just no interest in working on my oddball little airplane, LOL.
OK, enough of a rant. Any recommendations for Seattle and north?

I'm from the East coast, so I do not have first hand knowledge of mechanics in your area.
The Canadian Aircraft registry lists all canadian owners of DA20-A1:
https://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/saf-sec-sur/2/ ... c&m=%7c%7c
This one in particular is in Richmond, BC, not too far up north from Seattle. You might want to give them a call.

I saw a DA20 at KORS when I last landed there. So there's at least one in the area.

Re: A&P/IA Recommendation Seattle/North
I'm in Florida so obviously I can't speak to a local A&P but without having any good leads I would start my search here:
https://www.diamondaircraft.com/en/serv ... locations/
In the Seattle area, looks like one Service Center south of the border - one north of the border.
Service Center
Command Aviation
Bellingham International Airport, 2010 W. Bakerview Rd.
98225 Bellingham
United States
Phone 3607333174
Web http://www.commandaviation.net
Supported countries
United States
My last annual was with my local Diamond Service Center in Lakeland FL. They are new to Diamond but are a longtime service center for Cirrus. If a Diamond Service Center was not possible, that would be my next search, find a Cirrus Service Center. They specialize in composite aircraft which might be a advantage during an annual. However, the engine is a major focus, and my Diamond Service Center was very familiar with my Continental Engine. So you may want to focus your search on finding someone very familiar with Rotax engines...

Re: A&P/IA Recommendation Seattle/North
Aircore aviation at KAWO has been doing my annuals and maintenance for the last 3 years. They are very affordable and an authorized Rotax repair center. Have you called them yet? As far as I know they are the only Rotax service center in Washington.
