DA-20 is no longer offered
I guess the writing was on the wall. Now the Da20 has disappeared from Diamond's web site.
Why build an affordable, low margin, fun to fly twin seater when you can make better use of your manufacturing capacity selling a four seater and turn a higher profit.
I still love my DA20-C1 though. And I'll keep it nice and clean and update the avionics too.
I just hope Diamond won't abandon us, the owners, and keep making spare parts for it.
In the world of general aviation airplanes, the DA20 has this very special blend of fun, grace and efficiency that's hard to find.

Re: DA-20 is no longer offered
Diamond exhibited the DA20-C1 at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh this summer, so I wouldn't read too much into it temporarily disappearing from Diamond's web site.

If I were the new owners that's the model I would start the factory in China with. You can use it for VFR flight training and getting the factory up to speed on all of the composite skills, assembly and so forth.

Perhaps they are sending the tooling and molds to China?

Re: DA-20 is no longer offered
The DA20-C1 is still listed on the Diamond Aircraft site.
It is under the "Flight School Solution" category, not the "Private Pilot" heading!

Also they are bringing back the DA-20-100. The Rotax version of the DA-20! They don't list the price unfortunately.

Re: DA-20 is no longer offered
I emailed Diamond about the DA-20 and they responded that they are planning on restarting production. They didn't say when. I'd like to contact Diamond of Austria and ask them to consider producing it in Europe. The DA-20 is one of the best single engine aircraft available to this day.

Re: DA-20 is no longer offered
Diamond restarted DA20 production in Canada (the DA20-C1 model with Continental IO-240 125HP engine), with assembly in London, Ontario based on parts being shipped from Diamond's China factory. However like everything else, this may be affected by the virus.

Love the DA-20, most beautiful Diamond! Look at how graceful the wing roots are
Can I have a DA-20 915 is? Diamond's Lotus Elise?
