You can order these from Spruce, however they are currently awaiting their first shipment.

Some install progress photos...

Unfortunately I ran out of time today, and will need to complete this tomorrow. I will get better photos (swap over to a real camera) once everything is up and going.

Early impressions are:
- Don't look at the LED light, it's really bright.
- from 150' away it's very, very bright even in daylight, much more noticeable than the halogen
- Color temperature appears to me to be similar to HID
- Lamp only becomes "warm" to the touch after many minutes of continuous operation.
- Refer back to first impression...

I am not aware of any 337s that have been done for this lamp, and it is not currently covered by PMA.

Diamond Aircraft has had these lights in their possession for some time. I cannot comment on their intentions as far as certification / PMA.

I would prefer not to turn this thread into a discussion of the legality of replacing incandescent landing / taxi lights with LED equivalents.

As far as my own aircraft goes, I do not plan to seek a field approval for the lights.

The lights come with wire pigtails. I removed the polarized connector from the old light (cut pigtail) and attached it to the new bulb with the aid of solder and heat shrink over the joints. Make sure that the polarity is correct before installing the LEDs.

Afternoon update - the existing screws used with the original lamp assemblies are too long.

Current status - Getting shorter screws.

I don't have two functioning lights (one incandescent is burnt out), so it's difficult for me to pull off a real "before and after". However, I am going to try to produce something... so hang tight.
