I use a paint protection film from HEXIS company (film bodyfence).
I have cut stripe of 6cm width and applied in the leading edge.
Invisible, stone shipping proof, and allow easy cleaning.

I also applied some on the main and front gear legs and on the stair.

I'm using Aerotect paint protection film for the nose gear and it works great. It's almost invisible.

I found them this weekend, and just saw your thread. It's seems reasonable for the money if it does the job. One area that I have wondered about however is the area around the fuel caps. I noted while at the London ON factory a few weeks ago that the twin has this protection. After speaking with Jason at Aerotect https://www.aircraftpaintprotection.com/DA-40_c_24.html he said they could make some for me to try. I'll let you know how it ends up. It would be a shame to chip our new NG.

I installed the leading edge protection on the wing root of the DA40 and it seems like good protection thus far.

However, the DA40 tow bar / nose wheel protection pieces do not fit the NG and they had no idea when / if they would have something for the NG.
