Hardware screw size?
For the life of me I cannot find an exact replacement for all the hex button head screws that hold on the wheel pants and access panels. SAE #8 and 10 bolts are pretty close, and will work, but not exact, and metric 4 and 5 mm bolts look close, but will not screw in, it appears the standard pitch on my screws is off a smidge. As the hex heads routinely strip on me, a good set of accurate replacement hardware would be very helpful. Any ideas?

The access panel screws are M5X12 A2 stainless steel button head cap screws (MST 7380). You can get them from:

Re: Hardware screw size?
is that an M5-.8 ? I tried M5-.8 and they won't screw in (unless maybe my anchor holes have just been bent out of wack by the #10 bolts that have replaced most of them. I know there are non-standard pitches available out there, but not sure if that's the case.

Re: Hardware screw size?
Thanks Steve. While I'm ordering them, might as well order the seat access panel ones too. Happen to know what size they are too?

Re: Hardware screw size?
Unfortunately, no. My airplane doesn't have the seat access panels (I have to remove the seats at each Annual). It should be in the online parts manual, though. You could try running a M5 tap through the nutplate - that may clean it out enough to make the cap screws fit better...

Wow, thanks Steve - that's really helpful! For $20, I may order a set, too, just to have around for the next annual...
