Spare G1000 Range Knob?
One of the G1000 map range knobs cracked and fell off recently. I know that I can buy a full expensive knob set online. I was wondering if anyone happened to have a spare knob from a previously purchased set, or knows of a site that sells then a la carte.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I'm on the road Adam and can't easily drill down further but companies like Garmin buy knobs from stock types.
Allied Electronics has been a high quality parts vendor for many decades. Chances are good that an identical knob is somewhere in Allied's 140 web pages of ~20 knobs per page. Most of the knobs they list have PDF spec sheets. When you see Allied's prices, Garmin's prices may irritate you a bit more than they already do.

Re: Spare G1000 Range Knob?
I had the same problem a year ago, my MFD range knob cracked and then fell apart. I moved the PFD knob to the MFD, since it gets the most use. I dislike the missing knob, but not enough to pay Garmin's price for a new one! I did some searching a while ago, but never found anything. If you find a suitable replacement, I would love to know about it.

I scanned the 2,700 or so stock knobs at Allied and saw a few that look close. Also found close matches for the other G1000 knobs. I would have to drive to the hangar and get the exact measurements to be sure.
Mouser is another good source. They show over 1,000 knobs. http://www.mouser.com/Search/Refine.aspx?Keyword=knobs
EHC claims to have the world's largest selection of knobs. http://ehcknobs.com/index.php?id=CK1

I just saw your post/message. I still have a knob set missing one or two knobs sitting in my tool box. Yes I had to buy the whole set to get one knob. Thanks for nothing Garmin.

Re: Spare G1000 Range Knob?
Did anyone find a way to replace a single knob, either from Garmin or the aftermarket catalogs mentioned? Cracked the small FMS knob. Robbed the one from the altimeter setting on the PFD I never use, but still would like to replace it.

Nope.
I have been using the range knob stem for months. Actually about to order a new set since it seems like more knobs will crack soon as the plane turns 10 yrs old.

Re: Spare G1000 Range Knob?
Has anyone found a distributor that sells the G1000 knob set for a reasonable price?

Re: Spare G1000 Range Knob?
The price is high due to Garmin, not greedy distributors. Unfortunately I have searched far and wide and never found any seller that was not in the $100+ range for the knob set.
