I couldn't find anything in the forums on this, so I apologize if it's already been asked.
I understand there is no clearcoat on the airframe, but with the frequency with which the wheel pants are damaged/nicked is there a reason to not apply a protective layer of clear coat to the wheel pants?

Won't hurt a thing. New Cirrus come with two stage paint.

We've used clear plastic paint protectors for years. You put them on like a decal and they are pretty durable.
