Dave: When I visited the factory in July they said they would fit my plane and would work but weren't certified for my plane. They also said they might consider getting certs if enough of the owners would commit to purchasing them. The rough gues for the price was less than $5000 for the set.

Yes the NG winglets would certainly fit a Lycoming DA40. If you have a 2005 DA40-180 with standard range 40 gal fuel tanks, your plane might even pass certification spin testing. But are there enough owners of mostly 2004-2006 Lycoming DA40-180s with 40 gal tanks willing to pay $5K to retrofit winglets to cover the high cost of FAA certification? Maybe you could start another thread to ask, or even figure out how develop a winglet STC.

Good point Dave and I did think about it but I felt the price was steep and the benefit small. Also by now all of us have figured out how to get the plane in and out of the hangar without hitting the walls.

Sorry I was originally told by the Tech that it was a "jumper wire" but it actually worked out a little different. The problem was the G1000 and the Transponder were booting up together causing the G1000 to display "Traffic Not Available". I then had to pull the circuit breaker and re-boot the transponder whereupon the G1000 then showed "Traffic". The fix was simple. The Transponder was put on a separate circuit breaker so it would not start simultaneously with the G1000. Rather it starts with the rest of the avionics (Avionics switch) causing the necessary delay which in turn allowed the G1000 to boot first. Problem solved!

They replaced my GTX345R under warranty. Sent it 2nd Day Air and covered the labor to replace it.

Thanks. Did they cover the cost of moving to a new breaker. Sounds like the best solution.
