The disappearance was one that was not bonded in place - just stayed in place mysteriously. Since I bonded one in it’s stayed in place.

All went well, except the "remove the little bugger when I'm done". The darn thing stayed in place under the wing with no success removing it. The flanges are exactly flush with the wing skin so you can't get a grip on it.
I believe that's covered by Murphy's Law. :P

I always keep a spare set of those points just for jacking - put them on the jack tube to protect the one glued to the plane from getting all beat up. ;)
