De-iced prop for DA40?

Now that the supercharger is finally available, I was just wondering if anyone would dare to try a field approval for a de-iced prop. Technically it is not rocket science and if your prop is in need of an O/H it would be a good opportunity.

I believe the combination of a supercharger and TKS prop de-ice (which would also double as a windshield de-icer) would be a fantastic upgrade to the DA40 in colder areas (most of Europe and a big chunk of NA).
Gives/preserves the thrust to get out on top of an icing encounter.
Someone crazy enough ? FWIW I do have some contacts at MT-propeller so maybe I can facilitate.

I agree a de-iced prop is a good thing. But path of least resistance I would think would be a hot prop. In my opinion, TKS is the way to go when adding all the plumbing, pumps, etc, associated with tks wing de-icing, but if de-icing just the prop- electric heat.

Well yes (that's what I did) but then you would not spend the money on a supercharger either?
If someone loves their '40 to the point of pouring 30 K on this upgrade, would't they want to go all the way and get a de-iced prop?

As long as we're dreaming, an electric prop would be MUCH simpler than installing a TKS system. No messy or expensive fluid to replenish, and lighter weight.

If you install the air-conditioner and the larger alternator to drive it, then it seems the electric prop in the winter and the A/C in the summer would be goood synergism.

Yes certainly. I am not a fan of TKS, but a TKS pro would also de-ice the windshield.
