How to access the pitch lever to change the cable ?

Post by astaib »

Hello guys,

I’m trying to change the wire of the pitch lever that broke yesterday.
But I don’t know how to access this area?! I think that I have unscrew all what I can remove but it is still not enough.

Here is a picture in case you can help me!

It is a tight area, but you probably slip a wrench in there to loosen (not remove) the bolt that secures the wire. Then do the same on the prop governor in the engine compartment. Pull the wire out from the engine side. Reverse with the new wire. It will probably be difficult to slip it into the hole on the bolt, you may need some long needle-nosed pliers to help.

This was one of my idea also. And what about removing the right seat ?

Offhand I think removing the left seat will give you an additional angle to get at the little clamping thing. And perhaps help you fish it out when you drop it or some tool you're using

Shouldn't this cable replacement job be done by a professional A&P? Just sayin.
