Does anyone have the list of all items need to install KAP140 in a DA40? Also wiring diagrams will help.
Thank you

Re: Install KAP140
The "big" items are listed in the equipment list in the POH, page 6-19. But there are also other items that are dependent on what nav gear you have. You may need a different turn coordinator and if you lack the KCS 55A HSI you'll need to be sure your gyrocompass and primary CDI will work with the KAP140. I'm also not sure whether the linkage units between the controls and the servos are included in the list in the POH:
- Cable bridle items for pitch control
- Cable bridle items for roll control
- Sprockets, chain, clutch for pitch trim
Wiring diagrams are in the maintenance manual, available on the diamond website. But they do leave out various connectors in these diagrams.

Re: Install KAP140
I would think that the stumbling block would be the work necessary to install the servos. If the A/P wasn't installed then there is composite work to be done, correct? And is the new Garmin A/P available for the DA40? My guess is that it would be a smarter installation (newer technology, more features).

Re: Install KAP140
Just a dumb question, I thought that if there was no A/P installed when produced, it is not possible to install one after. Because of STC.
Am I wrong?

Re: Install KAP140
Diamond, at one point, told a DA40 owner that installing the KAP140 would cost him $80k. He decided not to do it.

OMG.
Ok! Won’t do it too.
But I think that it will make it more difficult to sell.

Re: Install KAP140
Thank you all for your informations.
I have a pretty big list of spare parts from POH. Indeed the AMM has some wiring/connectors without description.
G1000 and CDI can be configured separately.
And the price should be around 25K.
No STC is needed says Diamond.
Thank you and looking forward getting more infos from you
