The 530 has nothing to do with the trim. (Mine is currently not installed at all and trim works normally.) What you are likely referring to is the KC 140, which is the A/P computer that mounts in the panel. I've had this thing resist being properly seated in its mount and result in something or other not working properly. But if manual trim isn't working now, it's likely it's in the trim linkage.

Ok we can finally put this one to bed.. It was the friction adjustment and a loose chain in the trim mechanism under the console.. The tension was way to loose as was the chain.. Test flew yesterday and worked perfectly

I believe that "CAP140 autopilot" is really intended to be "KAP140 autopilot". I mention this so that, perhaps an admin can change the topic's title in order that it will show up during searches. OTOH, this post of mine will cause it to do so, anyway.
