Sirius XM
Hi, I’ve got a question on XM weather. We purchased the plane with a new G345R (adsb in/out). The Sirius isn’t active at this point. On the maps-weather data link page, it says “detecting activation”. Is there a way to remove this from the display? Did I interpret this correctly? Thanks, Charlie

Hi Charlie!
You can press the MENU button on the MFD and somewhere in the menu there is a way to select the weather source - either XM weather or ADS-B weather. If you choose ADS-B that should solve your problem. I believe this is 'sticky' across restarts of the G1000, so (hopefully) you should only need to do this one time.

Re: Sirius XM
Go to MFD map page and hit the Menu button in MFD. toggle the selection the FIS-B weather. That will change the source to the GTX345 weather. Shouldn’t see the Sirius pages again unless you toggle back if you ever activate Sirius weather.

Re: Sirius XM
Thanks for the replies. Sent to an avionics shop and evidently our G1000 is too old for displaying the weather via ADSB.

Re: Sirius XM
Charlie, what software version is your G1000 currently running? And do you have WAAS or not?
