Hello!
I know that this is not a Garmin forum, but as a lot of DA40 are or were equipped with, I try...
Mine is now not working, the 2 red flags are always on and when I turn it on, the glide is going at the lowest position and the vor to the right. When, I switch it off, the indicators come back at their center position.
Do you have any idea of what it can be?
Did you already sent this device to maintenance ? Do you think that it worth it? Or better buying a new one? A more recent (GI106B), or upgrade to a G5?
It is connected a GNS430 non-WAAS. And I have no autopilot.
Thank you!!
Arnaud.

Re: Garmin GI106A
Hello,
After investigation, the problem comes from the GNS430 and not the GI106A (that is only acting this way because the signal sent from the GNS430 is broken).
I will send my GNS430 to Garmin that have a flat rate for repair (1500€) and I think that I will jump on this possibility as long as Garmin continue to repair this old stuff.
I don't think that I will take advantage to upgrade to WAAS, because it is too expensive (4500€) and I don't fly IFR, but I will ask to have a 16W COM instead of the 10W (GNS430A).
