Data card fuel mismatch with reality

Post by smoss »

While my G1000 shows correct fuel indication, both sides, on both the gauges and the totalizer, the data card values for FQtyL and FQtyR do not match the real numbers. Plane correctly showed 45 gals total, 20 on one side and 25 on the other, but the data card showed 18.29 gal on one side, and 19.2 on the other. After a 1.5 hour flight, burning about 15 gallons, the totalizer correctly showed 30, with the gauges showing 15 and 15. The data card, however, ended showing 13.97 and 15.4, which would have been a total usage of 8.1 gallons! Talk about good fuel economy. Any thoughts on why the data card would be showing incorrect and non-matching data compared to the plane? To boot, the DAN report shows fuel burn correctly as 14.71 gallons, despite showing the start and end amounts as the incorrect values above.
