Nose landing gear fairing
Hello,
Just a short question, how is your nose landing gear fairing in the area of where the tow bar is griping ?
Mine has 2 metallic plates that I cannot find on the IPC.
My issue is that I removed those metallic plate in order to repaint the fairing and now I’m wondering how to put them back in place.
Rivet are not a good option because it has to be flush on both sides.
How are they on your?
Thanks!

Re: Nose landing gear fairing
I installed Aerotect protection over the paint which helps quit a bit, though it still takes a bit of a beating from my tug.
I've never removed them so I can't help with reassembly.

Re: Nose landing gear fairing
The metal scuff plates on mine are affixed with adhesive, but the two cap screws that attach the fairing halves to the front fork go through them:

Those plates are not original installed from the factory. I think a dealer was installing them. They are a great idea though.

Not original. I installed them after seeing another member's post about them. They were obtained from:Lance Murray wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 2:20 am Those plates are not original installed from the factory. I think a dealer was installing them. They are a great idea though.

Re: Nose landing gear fairing
Steve,
You mean that the plate has a tapes on 100% of the inner surface to hold them on the fairing? (Plus the 2 screws that hold each half sheel).
Maybe I will replace the "rivet" that I'm looking for by tape, but the hole from the old rivet will remain.
Thanks.

Re: Nose landing gear fairing
They look like simple alu plate, but they are bent to the shape of the fairing behind.Steve wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 2:58 amNot original. I'm thinking about making new like this at my office, but I don't know how to bend them after.

Re: Nose landing gear fairing
The plates are stainless steel. Dillons provided a tube of adhesive in the kit (as well as the drilled cap screws). The only issue with them is the extra few minutes to remove and replace the wire safetying the screws. But, then again, those screws will never vibrate loose like the originals sometimes do...astaib wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 2:08 pmSteve,

Re: Nose landing gear fairing
Mine are not Stainless Steel for sure, but I can do some at the office in either alu or SS. I was more thinking about double side tapes pro instead of liquid adhesive.
My screws are not drilled (not on the main gear fairing too).
