Changed N Number Today

Well with mixed feelings I changed my 2002 DA40’s tail-number today.
My feelings were mixed because my plane has been carrying N455DS since its production. Yet, I have been increasingly finding myself flying in situations where controllers are working with multiple “DS’s”. While it is nice that I am sharing the skies with many of you fellow Diamond pilots, and I like to think I am a pretty good listener, I thought since I am updating the graphics why not make a change.
As such N455DS has today become N427CQ. My new tail-number reflects an Army unit I was once lucky enough to serve in while being more unique than the typical DA40-180. I am hoping that the Quebec in this new call sign will help enhance my responsiveness to ATC while reducing the chances of being confused with another DS.
