LED Replacement for Filaments
I've read several threads on replacing the entire wingtip lighting units with PULSAR or WHELEN LED units, which I will likely do on my next annual. In the meantime I have a burned out position lamp on my 2008 XLS. Is there an LED replacement for a single bulb like this? Diamond factory support told me no but I find that hard to believe. The pricing for the Whelen 34-0428020-65 standard replacement is outrageous for a tiny incandescent lamp. Seems like someone must make an LED equivalent. Thanks.

Re: LED Replacement for Filaments
They're an odd shape and have a reflector pained on, so you're unlikely to find a non-aviation equivalent, LED or otherwise. I did see a lower-cost replacement, but it's still over $50. It just so happens I have 2 fully-functional A600 units, bulbs and all, left over from my Orion installation. I'm probably not alone. I also have a munged unit (don't ask, but it wasn't me) that might still have a functional bulb.

Re: LED Replacement for Filaments
Thanks Rich. I was a bit shocked at the $106 price tag I saw on Aircraft Spruce. Did a bit more searching and found it for $33 on a site called Interlight (www.Interlightus.com). Putting one on order. Has anyone done business with these guys?
