You folks ever use an app named Xavion? I ran it on a dedicated iPad when I owned my C182. Nice to have in situations like this one.

It's curious that this remains in an unknown, or at least un-communicated, resolution state.
Wondering whether any DAN members have additional knowledge.
Thanks

Re: DA40NG Lost Engine in IMC
I asked my sales guy and he reported that there has been no determination. Seems like a long time for no determination ...
That said, in my short experience with Diamond, they have been very forthcoming and have identified various risks to owners (i.e., the oil pump replacement).

Re: DA40NG Lost Engine in IMC
My understanding was that the plane in question is back in the air. If that is the case, surely something was "fixed"...

They replaced the engine ... the engine in question was shipped to Austro a while back.

Re: DA40NG Lost Engine in IMC
Thanks Marco. By the way, I did a looong XC last week, 20hrs. Was reflecting on the smoothness of the NG during that time...
Hope you are enjoying your new plane!

Re: DA40NG Lost Engine in IMC
I love it! It's a great airplane. It is very smooth and quiet! And I love the handling! I sometime wish it was a little faster, but I think all pilots wish that of their planes regardless of their speed
I started a spreadsheet of all my maintenance costs and items. I'll post periodically.
So far it has been awesome!

Re: DA40NG Lost Engine in IMC
I tracked down and spoke to the pilot. He has not yet heard why/what happened. He still has confidence in the NG engine...

Re: DA40NG Lost Engine in IMC
I have about 200 hours on our Austro engine thus far in a DA40 and it has been solid
