Has anyone had an issue with oil pressure too high?
My 2007 DA40 oil pressure gradually drifted downwards, to the point that it would go onto the yellow range at minimum idle when the oil was hot. At my recent annual, my AME adjusted it upward, by turning in the set screw on the oil pump. Now, I am just clear of the yellow band at low idle, but running quite high at power. At cruise, I am 83 or 84 psi, but have seen as high as 96 psi at full takeoff power. It doesn't ding any alarm, but seems awfully close to the redline visually on the G1000 gauge.
Any opinions as to if this is a problem? Anyone know if there is a relief valve that might pop and cycle oil at some point?

The engine max is 125 PSI but of course the gauge tops out and squawks at 99 psi. I see this happen when the oil is < ~75-80 degF and engine at max RPM (despite 20W50 ) but it doesn't last long. And nothing has blown out.

It is totally normal for the oil pressure to be in the yellow at low idle when hot. Most DA40s will give the low oil pressure alert/warning if pull throttle all the way back when hot.

What oil are you running?

If the oil is not at a high temp and rpm is high oil pressure will read high

Similarly if it is very hot and your are at idle you can get an low oil pressure alarm.

Not to worry all is fine.

However, if you don’t get at least 60 psi on take off roll at high rpm and power, abort something is wrong.

Just to finish off this thread....
After improving my understanding of the low oil warning (dings at 50 psi, but low idle minimum is 25 psi) I got my AME to lower the pressure setting on the pump. I now cruise under 80 psi, and max out low 90s. Got my old familiar low pressure ding back at low idle while hot, but the pressure reads just under 50. So all is good!
FYI I use Aeroshell 15-50 oil.
