Re: Considering New DA40 "NG"
Congratulations on your new to your DA40NG! One more in the bay area! We'll all be competing for time at Absolute Aviation.
I'm in Petaluma (O69). Look forward to connecting some time this summer!

Re: Considering New DA40 "NG"
Thanks everyone above for all your input. This is now what I'm considering for order:
Diamond DA40 "NG"
Garmin GFC700 AutoPilot
Garmin GTX345R ADSB in/out
Garmin Synthetic Vision
Garmin GDL 69A SAM SAT WX
Air Conditioning
Electric Adjustable Rudder Pedals
After delivery:
Jetshades
Bruce's cover (if not hangered)
Engine plugs
Sheepskin covers
Mt High O2 w/boom cannula
Brett Fin
Usage:
Fun, some high elevation airports, $100 hamburger, some overnights, only one additional passenger (and maybe a 22 lb dog), about 125 hours a year.
Overkill or miss anything?

Re: Considering New DA40 "NG"
Looks good to me, it's the same options configuration as mine. I'm a low time newbie and knew I wouldn't be flying more than one pax so the A/C weight equation didn't faze me. I absolutely love the aircon, coupled with the low engine noise it makes IFR training flights far less stressful, for both myself and my CFI lol
Does this config include the Garmin 510 Flightstream?? It's by no means essential but it's pure magic when it's working properly.

Re: Considering New DA40 "NG"
I don't have electric adjustable pedals in my DA40 NG and don't miss them. Bruce's Covers is having an issue with getting the lower engine plug to fit correctly.

Re: Considering New DA40 "NG"
I took delivery of 40NG a little over a month ago, and am approaching 50 hours. No issues (yet) with finishes others have noted.
I did not get the electric rudder pedals, and find the manual ones very easy to adjust. If it's just you sitting in the left seat, you won't need to adjust once properly set.
I couldn't be happier. Was worried I'd suffer some buyers remorse, but have a smile plastered on my face all day after flying in the morning.

Re: Considering New DA40 "NG"
Do you need to slide the seats back for exit/entrance (like a 172)? Or pretty much set and forget?

Re: Considering New DA40 "NG"
Seats don't move in the DA40 so once the pedals are set, no need to adjust anything.
