Fuel cooler inlet baffle - DA40 NG

Post by ScottOHare »

Its getting colder these days in Idaho. Does anyone use the inlet baffle to keep fuel temps from getting cold. Saw yellow temps for the first time this week but at least the views were good!

When taking delivery of my plane we cruised with a -13˚C OAT and had no problems or time in the yellow. What was the OAT? If you're seeing L tank temps in the yellow I guess it's time for the inlet baffle.

We remove the baffle only in high summer temperatures and leave it installed most time of the year.
