Check list
Hello All:
I just picked up my 2018 DA 42 yesterday and found out that they don't supply any check list for the plane. Is there anything like that out there that I can get?
Thanks
Perry

Re: Check list
Also, has anyone any ideas about the towing. It looks like that the standard tow bars don't fit.

Perry
I asked Diamond Austria about the checklists and they are meant to finishing them hopefully next year. However I would ask you to contact Diamond directly, because I imagine if there are lots of customers asking, it may encourage them to finish it off earlier.
And with the tow bars, I have been using a Sidewinder: it is fantastic, really recommend it highly.
All the best

Re: Check list
Latest DA42-VI checklist is available from Diamond's Training link at:
http://support.diamond-air.at/2190+M52087573ab0.html
It contains the caveat:

http://support.diamond-air.at/2190+M52087573ab0.html
It contains the caveat:
For this reason, I made my own abbreviated checklist which is a direct copy and paste from the AFM, with a few redundant items greyed out and a few personal preferences added. It fits on a single, double sided 8.5 x 11 in sheet. See third post from the bottom at:This checklist is a Recommended Operator Checklist and for reference only.
It is not a substitute for and does not supersede the current approved Airplane Flight Manual or any
of its supplements or parts thereof, or any training or procedures required by any regulatory or
advisory bodies.

Re: Check list
I concur. The Sidewinder from Redline (https://www.redlineaviation.com/diamond/) is an elegant solution to a tough problem. I now own two (for hangars at each end of my regular trip, so I no longer have to carry one with me) and cannot recommend them highly enough.dselder1962 wrote:...with the tow bars, I have been using a Sidewinder: it is fantastic, really recommend it highly.

Re: Check list
Rob,
That is certainly a good solution. I would make the point to those that don’t know, that if you have to take it with you, you can as it easily fits in the nose locker and at 12kg it is light enough to do so.

I thought Perry was referring to the electronic checklists. They are meant to be on the way for the 42-VI w NXi. The ones you can print out are available under the support pages.

Re: Check list
I find the electronic checklist to be clunky and arcane, but a March 2017 version is available from the same link:

Re: Check list / tow bars
Agreed, the Sidewinder is a great solution, although a more expensive option. Also, at 25 lbs. there are plenty of times I just don't want to be carrying that much extra weight, bulkiness or both. Here is a more standard and less expensive tow bar solution (5 lbs.) - yet is far superior to the stock one that came with my 2006 DA-42. It's made by Bogert Aviation: https://bogertaviation.com/collections/ ... s/bogi-bar

Re: Check list
That link was 404, but I found this page, which has a list. My 2007 DA42 came with a sad nosewheel steering bar, but when I was at the factory they replaced it with the Bogert bar, which they said is standard on new planes.
