DA42 TAE 125-02-99 life time TBR

Post by OE-FYA »

Hi guys! Maybe you can help me . I know that engines TAE 125-02-99 must be replaced every 1500 hours or 12 years from the first start. Am i right? Where is it indicated? Cannot find this record about ( 12 years ) in documents. Thanks.

The Technify Motors GmbH Service Bulletin lists both times, but in the reasons section it states that
For safety reasons it is strongly recommended to replace or overhaul the entire aircraft engine after 1500 flight hours or after 12 years, whichever occurs first.

Maybe some of you missed it but there are very clear statements in SB:
- TAE 125-01: Engine Replacement
- TAE 125-02-99: Engine Replacement or Engine Overhaul
- TAE 125-02-114: Engine Replacement or Engine Overhaul

Is anyone actually aware of overhaul done on CD135/CD155 and work and cost involved?

It looks like overhaul is not allowed under EASA for this engines.

I was told that Technify will allow you to continue to fly without replacement or overhaul with a hold-harmless letter in their hands. These are solid, diesel engines and I plan to just continue the usual maintenance schedule.

I'm getting close, at least on one side, so I need to contact them and get the details. I'm Part 91, which apparently makes a difference.
