Grounding the aircraft for fueling
DA42 AFM says only exhaust pipes should be used to ground plane during fueling. Anyone have another location?

This is an interesting one. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Admittedly, I have used a bolt on the nose wheel before as well as the tie downs near the wing tips.

Nope, that's the point I learned from Diamond pilots, and also the point our enginner learned in Wienner NeustadtUncleSpud wrote:DA42 AFM says only exhaust pipes should be used to ground plane during fueling. Anyone have another location?

What about the tab on the nose wheel which is marked with grounding symbol (pointed with arrow on attached picture)?

I've not noticed that before. All DA42-VI and DA62 aircraft have grounding symbol decals located on their engine cowlings showing that the exhaust pipes must be used for grounding; that's what everyone is taught.ememic99 wrote:What about the tab on the nose wheel which is marked with grounding symbol (pointed with arrow on attached picture)?
