You're much too kind John! What I would do to own a DA62, with its bigger engines, NXi, current G1000 software, FIKI, new airplane smell, etc., etc., etc. . . . However, even after 3 plus years, am still loving the old flight school DA42 and am feeling most grateful to be having this much airborne fun.

All graphics Neema, only the spinners were painted. Since I'm very pleased with the design, my plan is to eventually paint the rudder, leaving the rudder trim white (No Push). This was a difficult area to cover with vinyl and it turned out I preferred that look better anyway.

One last photo and then I'll stop, unless anyone has a specific request.

Ha - you're much too kind John! What I would do to own a DA62, just for the current G1000 software alone. . . I assume you have an NXi. Then throw in more horsepower, larger payload, FIKI capability and that new plane smell – it's enough to make anyone green (as your paint job) with envy!!!

Neema: only the spinners were painted, the rest is all graphics. Note: any vinyl applied to the rudder trim can be tricky, which the initial design called for. Will probably eventually paint the rudder, leaving the rudder trim (No Push) white.

Will stop now, unless anyone has a request for a closeup of a specific area.

Hi Scott -
Our 62 does have NXi - its a lot quicker than the G1000 in the 2007 DA42 we had previously. Let me know if you're ever in the KPTK area!
Looking!

Good to know. Thanks Scott. Your scheme looks similar to the Argentine (I think?) Air Force Diamonds

Ha - how about that? I like that paint scheme a lot Neema! Seems likely every speck of red on those aircraft is paint, not graphics. Which is probably the way to go, if you can afford to do so and feel very confident you'll like your design for a very long time.

BTW, have found with the red spinners on 89Y, this area is either a precursor to any ice development or it's simply not visible on the white leading edges of the wing. So either the accumulation is razor thin or has yet to develop elsewhere. And since this aircraft is not FIKI certified, I've always been clear of icing conditions in very short order and have yet to experience any buildup on the leading edges. Nor do I ever plan to.

Perhaps a FIKI equipped aircraft owner could shed more light on this subject by starting a new thread and sharing their experiences.

DA62 John: With some luck, maybe I can make it back your way next summer to check out your lightning quick NXi - thanks!

I still can't see the original images of the ceramic finish. Can anyone else?

Same here - no pictures in the first post of this thread, but I can see pictures in some other posts in this thread. It looks like there were 3 pics in the first post, but I just see placeholders. :(

On this end, I can see the photos of N112NG posted on 11/18/18, but not the ones Neema posted on 11/16/18. Regardless, I've heard from the shop that did the installation work for N189Y, they've since switched to and have had really good results with ceramic coating - on a variety of aircraft. It is expensive however, at least from the rough quote I received last month.

I *love* expensive. That's why I'm in aviation and not bicycling.

My funds are limited, though, which is why it is planes and not boats.
