Ceramic coating and stripes
I went out on a limb and we ceramic coated our 42 using the Gtechniq product line. Also took the opportunity to remove the gaudy stripes and give us an opportunity to find something else. Currently rocking a 42 in the nude. Doesn't look bad!
Has anyone else done this? Typically you do some paint restoration/polish before coating the plane. The paint restoration helped quite a bit. I was surprised that to see that planes have single stage paint. Crude, but I suppose it gets the job done.
It's much, much easier to wipe the plane down. Now I need to find some snazzy graphics

You might want to check out this website Neema. After several collaborative brainstorming sessions / drafts with Jonathan McCormick, I was very happy with the final design he came up with for N189Y:

Re: Ceramic coating and stripes
Thanks John! Wanna trade planes?
On a more serious note: besides improving the ramp appeal, a tandem goal was to increase the visibility factor - given the faded stock gray and gold stripes that blended into an overcast sky.
If any other owners (ideally based in the Northwest) are considering such a project for their airplane, please don't hesitate to send me a private message. As in addition to the beautiful work Jonathan McCormick did remotely, I can refer you to a very talented installation team in these parts.
