DA 42 NG fuel crossfeed operation

Dear DA42 pilots
I am flying DA 42NG in Kagaosima in the southern part of Japan and would like to ask an question about fuel crossfeed operation.
In the POH page 7-41, there is a context that is,
WARNING
Switching on the fuel pump in combination with CROSSFEED may cause damage to the high-pressure pump due to the high fuel pressure. After switching on the fuel pump in combination with CROSSFEED in case of an emergency special maintenance of the high pressure pump is required.
I want to know the reason why high pressure pump gets damaged in this case.
I also want know this is not applicable, if MÄM 42-600 is installed.
Does anybody help me?
