Thanks for the recommendation guys. A trip to NY is certainly easier than Southtec or XU. I really need to get to the engine maintenance course and bring my A&P so he can troubleshoot this stuff.

As a follow up to this we found the tubing from the engine to the ECU's that monitor the manifold pressure had a leak at the barb fitting and clamp. It looked like the heat from the engine is causing the inner tubing to become brittle after12 years of operation and the barb fitting had worn through the tubing. The tiny hole it made was causing the reading to become off to the other sensor(there are two per engine) by enough that it threw the ECU error. We were able to just cut it about an inch shorter and reconnect it. My plan is to have the entire length of tubing replaced at the next annual though.

I ended up going to Ed Novak at Shoreline Aviation in Mansfield (KGHG). They are a Diamond authorized service center and only a 15 minute flight for me. Seems like as they don't have Austro certification that Diamond took them off the DA42 page in the Diamond service center list.
