Hello,
I operate a 2007 DA42MPP TDI which has just been fitted with 2.0S engines . The 2.0S package includes an upgrade of the G1000 software to 370-22.
I understand from another thread that weather radar can be added to the TDI - but the radar returns cannot be overlaid over the route, reducing the benefit of the radar. Can anybody confirm that if the KRAP-140 is replaced with GFC700, that the G1000 software can be upgraded to a version which allows the radar returns to be overlaid?
Upgrading TDI to GFC700 and weather radar?

The G1000 NXi permits radar returns to be overlaid on an MFD moving map, or HSI moving map on the PFD, with your route.
However, I think the Legacy G1000 only provides a radar sweep page on the MFD, separate from moving map pages. I believe this is true of all Legacy G1000 Diamond twins, regardless of whether the GFC700 software is installed or not.
To verify for your software, go to the fly.garmin.com website, and download the G1000 Pilot's Guide for your specific software 370.22. Here's the direct link:

But you can look through the manuals for DA42NG software (with GFC700) on the same fly.garmin.com website and see if it makes any difference for displaying weather radar.
