Re: iPad mounting
Can't speak for a DA42, but this works very well in a DA40 and ensures maximum "heads up" time... and it's right in front of the air vent to stay cool:

Re: iPad mounting
Has anyone tried the Diamond I pad mount? I saw the pics. / mounting instructions a year or so ago but have not heard or seen anything more.

Re: iPad mounting
I had Diamond install the Ipad mounts on both sides while it was in for my ADSB upgrade.
I love them, both. I use my Ipad on my side and my wife uses the garmin 796 on her side. I use two extensions, one long and one short, to bring it forward and I can manipulate it to where I can use it comfortably. Works incredibly well. I never did get anything to work anywhere near as good as this.

Re: iPad mounting
I am going to install the Diamond I pad mount at some time in the future. It looks like an easy task and should make it easier to use the unit with out hiding any panel space. What did the parts cost?

Re: iPad mounting
MyGoFligth system works well mounted to the stick. Takes some fiddleing around to get it adjusted/geometry where you want it but works.
