Re: DA42 Down in Ohio
Sounds like bad gas or a fuel cap leak since both engines failed so close together. Wonder if they sumped the tanks before that flight.

Re: DA42 Down in Ohio
We're looking at two different crashes about a week apart. First in NC the second in Ohio. Both DA42's, possibly different engine types. Probably worth spinning this into two separate threads.

Re: DA42 Down in Ohio
The engines “rolled back to 30 to 40% power.” Sounds like what happens when one of the hoses pops off the turbocharger. According to FlightAware the previous flight was Aug 3rd. First flight after maintenance?

Re: DA42 Down in Ohio
That was my first thought too.
It sounds exactly like the hoses popping off.
Both happening at the same time shortly after maintenance only serves to reinforce it.

Re: DA42 Down in Ohio
It looks like two separate incidents. One is dated to have occurred in 2017 - landed gear-up. It was during landing. This one is during takeoff.tjmoody wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 9:06 pm Here is a little more on this incident. N215BN.

Right! I hadn't heard about the 2017 gear up before. Presumably didn't make it to the NTSB database.Rich wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 9:15 pmIt looks like two separate incidents. At least we know the tail number for this one now (maybe others knew but I didn't).

Useful site:
http://www.aviationdb.com/Aviation/AidQuery.shtm#SUBMIT
Serious quirk: For aircraft make it seems to store only the first 6 characters. So for "Diamond" use "make contains" DIAMON
